Learning Environments
Hillcrest Children’s Academy provides a rich learning environment with curricula that are developmentally appropriate to the specific ages in each classroom. We have a flexible daily routine that allows children to advance at their own pace. We strongly believe that learning happens through play. Learning and exploring are hands-on and are facilitated through interest areas. Our program is designed to enhance children’s development in the following areas: creativity, self-expression, decision making, problem-solving, responsibility, independence, and reasoning. We encourage openness to that which is different from us, and the ability to work and play with others.

Activities, projects and extended learning experiences are intentionally planned to invite children to explore their own curiosities while encouraging them to naturally apply multiple skills throughout the learning experience. Educators frame experiences around thematic studies to help children link past and new knowledge within a playful story platform. Thematic studies reinforce real-world connections and help children learn about themselves, their families, diverse communities, natura habitats, and how they fit within the big, beautiful world.
- We believe the Bible is the authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is only one true God. God is eternal and existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, his sinless life, in his miracles, in his atoning death through his blood, in his bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father.
- We believe we have all sinned and need Jesus for eternal life.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit as our helper to live a life pleasing to God.
- We believe God invites all people, young and old, to know him and have a personal relationship with him.
